My kids look black, but talk white. They study Latin and ancient civilizations. Their parents are married...to each other. They are different. And we like the differences we see in our kids.<br /><br />We make time for them to be normal and to be around other kids their age, but we are also very visible to their friends, tutors and playmates. We talk about and try to model tolerance and diversity.<br /><br />We can't protect them from every negative experience that life has to offer, but hopefully we will have given them a strong sense of self before they have to deal with the world on a daily.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
